What is an ECG Test?
An electrocardiogram, ECG, is a safe, painless and non-invasive procedure people use to keep an eye on overall heart health and also find different heart concerns. It works by observing and capturing the electrical signal that moves through the heart during each heartbeat. Those electric impulses make the arterial tissues contract, so the heart can push blood onward.
During an ECG test, the system detects and checks up on anomalies in the hearts electrical activity, which can suggest a heart condition or the possibility of one. The ECG device records the electrical signals every heartbeat and then shows them as waves on a screen, kind of like a graphical trail. Then your doctor will look over the report and decide whether your heart is functioning optimally by reviewing how long those electrical signals take to travel through your heart. That can clarify if the hearts rhythm is quick, sluggish, routine or irregular.
